Mt. Usu which most recently erupted in 2000, is located on the Pacific Coast next to Lake Toya. This fascinating area of volcanic activity is a sight to behold. Standing at just over 500 metres high, Mt. Usu hike is a comfortable day trip for anyone wanting to enjoy Hokkaido's magnificent scenery.

Itinerary
Meet at adex base 15 minutes beforehand to check gear and to complete formalities.
Usuzan Trailhead
Take free shuttle bus to Usuzan trailhead. (approx 60 minutes)
Outer volcano rim viewpoint
Hike up mountain path through forests to arrive at Usuzan volcano viewpoint. (approx. 90 minutes)
Break
Have lunch and a toilet break whilst watching the beautiful views. (approx. 30 minutes)
Carpark
Hike down the mountain back to the car. (approx.60 minutes)

Drive back to adex base via Sobetsu and Orofure pass
(approx. 120 minutes)

What do I need to bring?
Appropriate footwear is needed such as walking boots, and breathable clothes that are suitable for exercise. In case of rain, a lightweight raincoat should be brought. Snacks and drinks are advised and sunglasses and suncream during summer months.

Cancellation Policy
If the tour is canceled due to bad weather on the day (heavy rain, strong winds, typhoons, heavy snow, etc.), we will refund 50% of the published price of the activity tour.
We will charge a cancellation fee of 100% if booking is cancelled 1 day or less before the event. 70% if booking is cancelled 2 days, 50% if booking is cancelled 7 days and10% if booking is cancelled 14 days or less before the event.
